Our Dear Friends,

As Catholics, we believe that Christ is truly present in the Eucharist – the Real Presence. As Matthew Kelly asks, “Why would anyone leave the Church or belong to another if we Catholics have the Real Presence – Christ, God with us?” Many, it is sad, find this a hard truth to accept, as if we weren’t worthy or loved enough to receive this gift of God Himself.

This month, Catholics across the country are celebrating this gift and the Church is calling us to take part in a National Eucharistic Revival aimed at renewing our understanding and appreciation of the Real Presence in the Eucharist. As part of that celebration, the Archdiocese of Chicago is holding an evening of Eucharistic devotion including Mass and Adoration in each of the six vicariates. You are invited!

We at Saint Catherine-Saint Lucy and Saint Giles are invited to participate on Saturday, June 29 from 4 to 6 pm at Saint Rosalie Parish, 6750 W. Montrose Ave. in Harwood Heights. Mass is at 4 pm and Adoration at 5 pm. At 5:15 pm, a Eucharistic procession will take place around the church campus. Benediction will be at 5:45 pm followed by a light reception. We extend an invitation, then, to all our fellow parishioners to join us and other Catholics from Vicariate IV at Saint Rosalie where together we can pray and celebrate the treasure of the Real Presence.

If you plan to attend, simply RSVP to the Archdiocese at dianefilpirn@gmail.com.

Let’s pack the church! We hope to see you there.
